Position Summary

The Store Manager oversees all aspects of store operations, ensuring strong financial performance, excellent customer service, and a positive team culture. This leadership role manages all departments, drives sales, controls expenses, and ensures operational excellence in alignment with company goals.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of grocery retail experience.

  • Minimum 2 years of store director or store manager experience.

  • Strong leadership and team development skills.

  • Proven track record of driving sales and achieving operational goals.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.

  • Flexible schedule availability, including weekends and holidays.

  • Passion for food, community, and providing a great customer experience.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Operations

  • Lead overall store operations across fresh departments (produce, meat, bakery, deli), center store, and front-end.
  • Provide training, coaching, and performance management for department managers and employees.
  • Set clear expectations, delegate tasks, and follow up to ensure accountability.
  • Foster a positive workplace culture that supports teamwork, growth, and inclusivity.
  • Open and close the store, ensuring safety and compliance procedures are followed.

Merchandising & Customer Experience

  • Create inviting, fresh, and shoppable departments through effective merchandising and displays.
  • Manage side counters, endcaps, and “WOW” presentations to drive sales.
  • Ensure excellent customer service by addressing questions, complaints, and returns in a professional manner.
  • Serve as a visible leader in the store, engaging with customers and staff daily.

Financial & Inventory Management

  • Monitor KPIs including sales, margins, shrink, and labor costs.
  • Oversee ordering, inventory accuracy, and in-stock levels across all departments.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards and all legal/certification requirements.
  • Manage departmental profitability and support corporate initiatives for growth.

Team Development

  • Work with department managers to cross-train staff and ensure operational flexibility.
  • Address performance or disciplinary issues fairly and consistently.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating integrity, responsibility, and excellence in all interactions.
